Pregnancy Update: 39 weeks

How far along? 39 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: +25.4 lbs ... Eek!

Maternity clothes?  Same, pants yes... tops, no

Stretch marks? Nope, bless you sweet child, bless you!

Sleep: Some nights I can't sleep, but those are few.  I love sleep but I haven't taken a nap since my 2nd trimester... there's always too much to do!

Best moment this week: Finding out our home we flipped is under contract!!! We should close on it mid November!!! Praise the Lord!!!

Miss Anything?  Getting up/moving positions without straining and grunting... haha yes, I feel like a beached whale :)

Movement: Oh yes, Charles loves it! He gets to feel our little wiggles a lot!

Food cravings: Nope.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not at all.

Have you started to show yet: Ehhhh I'm really not sure... you tell me :) haha

Gender: Girl... but not a girly girl, HOPEFULLY

Labor Signs: No, haha but I really, really don't want my water to break on my furniture, in my car, or on my mattress.  Why, you ask?  I don't want to have to clean it up! haha at work, SURE, Walmart, yeah take that, at a restaurant, why the heck not!? haha I will not be embarrassed, I will be thankful it's not my responsibility to clean it up.  Who cares if I look like I peed my pants... jokes on them because they can obviously tell I'm pregnant and getting on my hands and knees and scrubbing up fluid doesn't sound like fun to me right now :)

Belly Button in or out? Still in, but very, VERY flat!

Wedding rings on or off?  I'm wearing my size 6 fake ring a lot more now.

Happy or Moody most of the time:  Happy!!! God is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good!

Size of Baby:Well baby center says about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds... but I highly doubt that, unless she's really good at hide and seek!

Looking forward to: Becoming a parent with my favorite man in the world, Charles Grayson, and us meeting our daughter!  And losing baby weight... yeah I looked back at some pictures toady, and I looked good! hahaha hopefully I can get back to normal size me sooner than later :)  Oh well, so worth it! LOVE YOU BROOKE!

Nursery: Completed

Sorry I hadn't written this post yet... Brooke's room is basically done :)  Do I love it, no... do I like it, yes! haha There's always more I could have done, if I wasn't cheap, but I did what I did and did it within a very modest budget.  I like it, Charles likes it, and we do hope and pray it's a great place for Brooke to rest her precious head!

Wood and letter I cut and traced.

Scroll saw we bought on craigslist for $35

Charles cut and sanded all of these (AMAZING JOB SHUG) and I painted them.

A sweet "B" our friend made for Miss Brook to go on her door.

Basically shades of pink, gray, and aqua (I had a TERRIBLY hard time finding things the color aqua I wanted)

$15 glider I recovered, $40 Dresser/changing table we painted

Fun little decorations on the wall.

Closet and dollar store mirrors I painted.

$2 cornice board I made with extra fabric.

Fun tissue paper in the corner and great piece of furniture our sweet bro and sis in law gave us.

Crib and sweet letters :)

Close up of the tissue paper mobile.

Letters I love!

Sweet place for our baby girl to rest her head!

Pregnancy: 38 Weeks

How far along? 38 Weeks... 2 weeks until our due date!!!

Total weight gain/loss: +24 ... yep, I guess I'm retaining fluid, I don't look bigger (in my opinion) :( AND we ate out like 4 times this week... oops!

Maternity clothes? Maternity pants most of the time, but still some regular pants with a belly band, and regular tops, though my belly is starting to show on some of my shorter tops!

Stretch marks? Nope

Sleep: Yes, but I wake up to pee... A LOT

Best moment this week: Finishing the nursery and saying "no" to a lot of things.  Trying to take it easy these last 2-4 weeks before Miss Brooke comes :)

Miss Anything? haha my clothes... nothing looks good anymore! Gosh I hope I can fit back into them.

Movement: Oh yes!

Food cravings: No, I meannnn I like pumpkin stuff, but that's just because it's fall.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Gaining 3 lbs in a week... ugh, that will brighten your day!

Have you started to show yet: Yes, I have a big ole baby belly!

Gender: A sweet girl

Labor Signs:  Nope... I don't even think I've had braxton hicks.  Like I said, I think she's setting up camp, I don't anticipate her coming anytime before her due date.

Belly Button in or out? Still in, but very, VERY flat!

Wedding rings on or off?  I'm wearing my size 6 fake ring a lot more now.

Happy or Moody most of the time: So happy and exhausted. I wish we could get our old house rented and sell our house we flipped, but other than that, we’re patiently awaiting our little girl and ready for the many blessings she is sure to bring to our lives!

Size of Baby:Well baby center says about  6.8 pounds and she's over 19 1/2 inches long... but the doctors don't think she'll even be that big at birth going full term or past my due date! haha Looks like we've got a little bitty one on our hands... thought I'm measuring right on schedule.

Looking forward to: Becoming a parent with my favorite man in the world, Charles Grayson, and us meeting our daughter!

Miss Anything? Being able to sit/lay/go where I want to... hahaha I don't really fit as well in tight corners and sitting isn't always fun, Brooke, you can drop now, I would LOVE my ribs back :)

Movement: Oh yes!

Food cravings: Not really, I did want Mexican this week and that's normally my last resort.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Thinking that this child will not want to come out and having to induce :(

Have you started to show yet: Yes, I have a big ole baby belly!

I'm going to be a mom...

As we approach the 1 month countdown until our due date, many thoughts have been filling our heads about the joys and struggles that lie ahead of us.  I know this doesn’t include everything that lies ahead, but regardless… I’m going to be a mom.

I’m going to be a mom.
We have been blessed by the Lord with a sweet life
That has been formed and knitted in my womb for almost 9 months.
We were chosen to welcome a sweet little girl into our lives and hearts.
We have read numerous books, consulted friends, family and classes
Seeking knowledge and wisdom on childbirth and parenthood,
But how can you truly prepare for this…
I’m going to be a mom.

I’m going to be a mom.
I’m going to go through hours of pain, laboring to bring Brooke her first breath.
I will rely on the Lord and my husband for strength and peace.
Tears of joy will be streaming down our faces when we meet our precious child.
It will be surreal, as it is now, to even imagine a human being nestled perfectly inside of me.
We pray for a safe delivery and healthy mom and baby, whatever it takes by
Surrendering our will and control to God and the doctors on the day of her arrival.
I’m going to be a mom.

I’m going to be a mom.
Your first breath, will take ours away.
My body will be yours as I strive to produce and deliver your sustenance.
Our arms will be filled with affection, peace, and protection
As you, Brooke Grayson have been entrusted to our care.
We will endure sleepless nights and countless cries for help.
We will mess up. We will get frustrated. We will make it.
I’m going to be a mom.

I’m going to be a mom.
Your father and I will seek God’s guidance on how to be great parents.
We will love Him first, each other second, and you third.
We do this to ensure the best support and outcome for our lives.
This is not loving you less,
It is loving you more by letting Christ’s love flow down to you.
Though we’ve never met, you are so very loved by your Daddy and I.
I’m going to be a mom.

I’m going to be a mom.
We will watch you grow as you watch our every movement.
We will strive to be good examples of love and grace.
I will do my best to teach you how to be a Godly woman,
And your father will be the best example of a man’s love.
Our lives will forever change the day you arrive,
We welcome you with open arms and hearts, sweet child.
I’m going to be a mom.

I’m going to be a mom.
I will have a shadow from now until you’re “too cool”.
We will bathe you, feed you, clothe you and fix your hair.
We will kiss and tickle you.
We will love you with every ounce of love you can bare.
We will also discipline you and teach you how to obey.
You won’t always like us, but you will always know we love you.
I’m going to be a mom.

I’m going to be a mom.
No longer is my life my own.
Your father and I will delight as we show you off to the world.
When you’re sick, we will do all we can to make you better.
When you’re happy, we will share in the joy and rejoice.
Always ready and willing, with open arms to embrace you,
And love you for you are our daughter.
I’m going to be a mom.

I’m going to be a mom.
I will get yelled at, talked back to, and ignored.
Fear not, for I  have been a daughter too and I know these things will pass.
I will always be there as a shoulder to cry on and a listening ear.
I will always know more than you think I do,
And I will try my best to give you your freedom and watch you learn and grow.
I pray you will seek the Lord and not the attention of man.
I’m going to be a mom.

I’m going to be a mom.
We welcome the Lord to bless us with many more dear children.
Your father and I know you will be a great example and testimony of love.
We hope to fill our home and hearts with brothers and sisters for you Brooke Grayson.
You will always be our first child, you will be a role model and a big sister.
Lord, we’re ready for whatever may come our way,
We give you all glory, honor and praise.
I’m going to be a mom.

Pregnancy: 35 Week Update

How far along? 35 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss:  +17.4lbs as of last Tuesday... we had Olive Garden Unlimited Pasta last night sooooo I'll just go ahead and guess I'm up +19lbs now :)

Maternity clothes? Ha... these are the new black maternity pants, size small Kim... really!? haha Shoulda got a medium.

Stretch marks? No sir, no ma'am... and they best stay away.

Sleep: Ehhh getting harder.  I have a really tough time falling asleep now.  And Charles says I breath really loudly, and when I flip sides, I wake him up... oops :)

Best moment this week: That's a toughy... I mean, it's been a good week, but nothing AMAZING has happened.  We found out another family member of ours is having a little boy in February... yep, Miss Brooke is still the only girl in 27+ years on my hubby's side, with a heap of boy cousins already.  Bless her lil heart!

Miss Anything? My ribs being left alone.  I think I spend more of my day with my hands above my head trying to lengthen my torso to give BG some more room in there :)

Movement: Oh yes.  haha I've noticed, I haven't been a good "I need to stop and relax" pregnant lady, I'm same ole go go go Kim... so I will need to purchased a moby wrap or carrier because something makes me think Brooke isn't going to like just laying still.

Food cravings: No, still nothing, but I did enjoy half a slice of Olive Garden Pumpkin Cheesecake last night :) Can we say "YUM"!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not at all...

Have you started to show yet: Growing by the minute!

Gender: My girl

Labor Signs: I have actually felt more cramping this week than I have the entire pregnancy.  I think it's because she's growing and moving more.

Belly Button in or out? Still in, but very, VERY flat!

Wedding rings on or off? Mine, and on! Yes, size 4 3/4 still fits! I wish I could say the same about my size 4 and 5 shoes :( Hopefully I will be able to wear them after Brooke, if not, I'm going to have to buy new shoes! Seriously, the bridge of my foot, like my bone structure, not swelling, has expanded.

Happy or Moody most of the time: So happy and exhausted. I wish we could get our old house rented and sell our house we flipped, but other than that, we’re patiently awaiting our little girl and ready for the many blessings she is sure to bring to our lives!

Size of Baby:Well baby center says about 5 lbs and 18 inches long, I doubt she’s that big though… ha the size of a small roasting chicken... yep, feeeels about right!

Looking forward to: Meeting my sweet daughter than I can pour the love of Christ into! Becoming a parent and relying on my husband and the Lord to strengthen and encourage me daily as I do the same.  We're living the dream!
