Funny Failures: Hot Roll Mix

Yep, HOT ROLL MIX ... not "oh I love fresh bread from the bread maker but i'm too lazy to make the dough and too cheap to buy the real bread maker mix so I'll try out this $1 box of HOT ROLL MIX I got from the Dollar Tree in my machine EVEN THOUGH there are NO directions for making this product in a bread maker on the package!" haha

That's me :)  Really, my thought was... what's the harm, if it works, GREAT! If it doesn't ... oh well, it was worth a try! 

Mix, egg, yeast, water, butter ... check!



So I turned on the machine and made dinner, did some laundry, watched some TV anxiously awaiting that high pitched beep to go off in 3 hours and 10 minutes and a nice, hot, fresh loaf of white bread! 

But, this is what I got ...

Yeahhhh .... umm only rose about a 1/3 of the way up the pan ...

Doughy in the middle and crusty floury mess on the outside ...

 

Not too shabby... the front piece does have butter slathered allllll over it and a nibble or two, haha yes, I was impatient and wanted to try the bread ...

In all honesty, it wasn't that bad... it also wasn't that good! haha take it from me and don't try to take the easy and cheap way out when you want delicious fresh bread, k?

 

Funny Failures : Blogging

Yes, I will be the first to admit that I've been a terrible blogger.  And, well, my excuse is ... my life is just kinda boring right now :(  You know, work, exercise, eat, time with the hubby, sleep, repeat.  Throw in some church and great times serving and the occasional weekend trip, and you've got my life.  Sorry I haven't posted, and I probably won't post for another week or so ... because I'll be at the beach. For a week, with the wonderful in law family of mine !!!!! I'm so excited !  Okay, bye :)

Funny Semi-Failures: Heat-less Curls attempt #2

haha and they both ended up under funny failures ... sad :( well this one wasn't a complete failure, I meannnn it just wasn't perfect like I wanted it to be.  See this tutorial here ... Basically, take a head band thingy, the ones you wear when you're exercising to keep the wispies back, put it around your forehead, wrap hair in sections around the band until you look like Martha Washington, sleep in it, and viola beautiful curls ! haha here's a few pictures of me :) Man I must really love ya'll to be showing you some of these images !

Mostlikely I will try this again because it is a decent way to get some body and movent to your hair without any damage.  Next time, I will try to wrap the hair more carefully.  Well, let me know if you try it and how it works for you :)

How to curl your hair with a sock! Puhleeze ...

So after my last post, a friend commented on facebook with this video.  She said here sister has tried it and it works really well !!! Well if you know me, or if you don't know me you're getting to know me through this blog, I am willing to try ANYTHING ... atleast once ... so here it goes !

Seriously ... this was a lot more difficult than this girls video!  When I had my ponytail on the top of my head, my no-layered hair turned into 5 different layered sections and was nearly impossible to get a nice, neat, tightly curled bun :(  Oh well, I put a comb through it for soft waves, pulled it up half way and was out the door !  I'm glad Charles wasn't awake yet to see this ... he probably would have laughed ! Y'all let me know if you try this method and it works for you !
